Milwaukee School of Engineering's Logan Andryk (Milwaukee Marquette) had two goals and Jacob Grindel (Milwaukee Marquette) also scored as Bavarian SC handed the Croatian Eagles their first loss of the Wisconsin Soccer Leagues Major Division season with a 3-1 victory Wednesday at Heartland Value Fund Stadium in Glendale.

Both teams have clinched spots in the four-team playoffs – the Croatians (12-1-1) will be the top seed regardless of the result in their final match. Milwaukee Sport Club (10-4-0) and the Bavarians (9-4-1) also have one game remaining, while fourth-placed United Serbians (7-4-2) have two matches left to play.

The Major Division semifinals are scheduled for July 12 at the outdoor fields at the Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex, with both games kicking off at 3 p.m. The final is set for 7 p.m. July 19 at MSOE's Viets Field.

  • Eight teams will qualify for the WSL First Division playoffs, which start July 8 with quarterfinals hosted by the top four seeds. The semifinals will be played at 1 p.m. July 12 before the Major matches in Brookfield, with the championship game at 5 p.m. July 19 at Viets Field.
  • Club Latino has forfeited its final three matches of the First Division season, league officials confirmed. Their opponents for those games – Sport Club Reserves, United Serbians Reserves and Polonia Reserves – have been awarded 3-0 victories.
  • The weather-delayed Madison Soccer Association Division 1 final between top-seeded and two-time defending champion Madison Fire (11-1-3) and No. 3 seed Madison United (7-6-2) has been scheduled for June 28. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Goodman Pitch at Verona's Reddan Soccer Park.
  • UW defender David Caban (Kenosha Tremper) scored the final goal as the Chicago Fire Under-23 team routed the visiting Pittsburgh Riverhounds 4-0 in a USL Premier Development League match last Wednesday in Bridgeview, Ill.
  • UW-Milwaukee's Declan Rodriguez netted his second goal of the year Saturday, but the host Thunder Bay Chill lost to the Des Moines Menace 3-2 in a PDL match.
  • UW's Genevieve Richard was finally scored on in USL W-League play last week, but she still has five shutouts and a 0.43 goals-against average for the Laval Comets. Richard has stopped 30 of the 33 shots she's faced for the Comets (4-1-2).
  • UW's Micaela Powers scored her first goal of the season Sunday as the Dayton Dutch Lions blanked the host Atlanta Silverbacks 2-0 in a W-League match.
