Philip Suprise (Milwaukee Pius) certainly enjoyed his first home matches as a member of the U.S. Futsal national team.

Suprise scored in both games as the Americans split a pair of friendlies against France last week at the Kern Center in Milwaukee, winning 5-2 on Saturday night after dropping a 5-3 decision on Thursday.

The U.S. team, under the direction of former Milwaukee Wave coach Keith Tozer and assistant Mark Litton (Racine St. Catherine's/UW-Parkside), took the lead in each match.

In the opener, the Americans were up 2-0 at halftime before France rattled off four straight goals. The U.S. pulled within 4-3 after scoring with an extra attacker on in place of its goalkeeper, but the visitors added an insurance goal and prevailed.

Two days later in the rematch, Bato Radoncic put the Americans ahead in the 6th minute and Surprise doubled the lead 5 minutes later.

With the U.S. leading 4-2 and the French playing with an extra attacker, keeper Danny Waltman saved a free kick without a wall with 15 seconds left after the Americans' sixth foul of the half, and Nelson Santana scored into an open goal with 3 seconds left to seal the victory.
