June 13, 1943: Outside left John Gondi, center John Stier and inside left John Petek all scored as Milwaukee's Falk Corporation got past the host Chicago Vikings 3-2 to win the Midwest Cup. The Falks finished with three points in the competition between the state champions from Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri and claimed the Harry Marre Trophy. The Vikings finished second with two points and the St. Louis El Rays collected one point.
