June 12, 2002: Aaron Lauber (Franklin/UW) didn't expect to play, let alone be the star for the Milwaukee Rampage in their A-League match against the Minnesota Thunder – he didn't even bring his jersey to the game. But one injury found him make his way onto the game-day roster, another helped send him into the match and Lauber was indeed the hometown hero after his 90th-minute header off Igor Soso's cross gave the shorthanded Rampage a 2-1 victory in front of 2,171 fans at the Rampage Sports Complex in Franklin. Milwaukee (8-2-0) trailed 1-0 at halftime, but John Wolyniec equalized in the 50th, just before the 23-year-old Lauber came in for his surprising appearance.
