June 10, 1962: Louis Gaal, Anthony Slavik and Paul Bur scored first-half goals as the Rich Tigers held off Polonia 3-2 to remain unbeaten and tied for first in the Wisconsin State Soccer League Major Division. Bavarian SC kept pace with the Tigers (4-0-1) atop the eight-team table, routing the Milwaukee Serbians 7-1 behind four goals from Rich Schweinert and two from Alois Hospel. The Milwaukee Brewers (3-1-3) also had nine points, but the Tigers and Bavarians each had two postponed games still to make up.
