After a huge victory by their Under-17/18 team last Tuesday against the Chicago Fire, the FC Wisconsin Nationals endured a rough weekend against Ohio clubs Internationals and Crew Soccer Academy in their final home games of the 2013-14 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season in Germantown.

The Under-17/18 team provided the lone win in the six weekend games, with Nick Moon (Waukesha West), Nikola Atlija (Franklin) and Braden Andryk (Milwaukee Marquette) scoring first-half goals as the Nationals rallied from an early deficit to beat Internationals 3-1 on Saturday.

The team lost to Crew Soccer Academy 2-0 on Sunday to finish the season 8-15-4 and in 11th place in the 13-team Central Conference Mid-America Division. UW-Milwaukee recruit Reid Stevenson (Sturgeon Bay) and Atlija, who is headed to the University of Wisconsin the fall, shared the team lead with 10 goals apiece.

The Nationals' Under-15/16 team dropped 2-1 decisions to both Ohio clubs, getting goals from Jordan Palmer (Whitefish Bay) against Internationals and Todor Atlija (Franklin) against Crew Soccer Academy.

FC Wisconsin (10-11-5) likely needed to win both weekend games to have a shot at a wild card berth in the Development Academy playoffs, but the surprising loss to Internationals – they were 3-16-5 coming into the weekend – all but ended those hopes.

The Nationals' Under-13/14 side had an unbeaten weekend, drawing Internationals 0-0 and Crew Soccer Academy 2-2. Nick Martensson (Milwaukee Marquette) posted the clean sheet on Saturday for FC Wisconsin (5-11-6), while Jonathan Hernandez (Milwaukee) and Trey Goodnetter (Elm Grove) were on the scoresheet on Sunday.

The two younger Nationals teams will head to Bridgeview, Ill., to face the Fire on Saturday – that will conclude the regular season for the Under-15/16 side.

The Under-13/14 team then will close out its inaugural season with three games from June 13 to 16 in Westfield, Ind. A combined team, made up of FC Wisconsin's Under-17 and Under-16 players, also will play three matches in Indiana from June 23 to 26.
