Sarah Hagen (Appleton North/UW-Milwaukee) is returning to the U.S. – and to the U.S. women's national team.

The forward will play her final match with German club Bayern Munich in Sunday's Frauen-Bundesliga season finale, then return stateside to join FC Kansas City.

However, before starting her career in the National Women's Soccer League, the 24-year-old Hagen is headed to training camp with the U.S. squad ahead of friendlies against France on June 14 in Tampa, Fla., and June 19 in East Hartford, Conn.

Both matches between the Americans, ranked first in the FIFA Women's World Rankings, and the fourth-ranked French will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on the U.S. Soccer Federation website.

It's the first official training camp for new U.S. manager Jill Ellis, who was named to replace Tom Sermanni – she had two stints as the team's interim coach. Ellis will select 18 players for the game-day rosters from the 26 players invited to camp.

Hagen has earned two caps, both coming in early March at the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

Coming off the bench each time, she played 9 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Sweden on March 7 – watch the video below to see her take the field for the first time as a full international, coming on in place of legendary striker Abby Wambach – and the final 8 minutes in a 5-3 loss to Denmark three days later.

The 5-foot-11 Hagen is tied for sixth in the Frauen-Bundesliga with 11 goals in 19 matches this season, and has scored 42 goals in 59 appearances in all competitions since joining Bayern Munich in January 2012.
