Three goalkeepers with ties to Wisconsin posted shutouts in professional soccer matches over the weekend, two in Sweden and the other in the U.S.

Matt Pyzdrowski (Marquette), right, made one save in his second straight clean sheet for Ängelholms FF in a 0-0 draw against host Syrianska FC on Saturday in the Superettan, Sweden's second division men's league. On Twitter: @MattPyzdrowski

Then on Sunday, Michele Dalton (UW) and Kvarnsvedens IK kept up their fine form in the Elitettan – the women's second division in Sweden – with a 2-0 victory over Umeå Södra FF. It was the fourth shutout of the season for Dalton and Kvarnsvedens (7-1-1), which stands second in the 14-team league. On Twitter: @MicheleDalton18

In between those two performances, Patrick McLain (Eau Claire Memorial) stopped all seven shots he faced for his first clean sheet of the year as Orange County Blues FC blanked Arizona United 2-0 in a USL PRO match in Irvine, Calif. McLain, 25, was named to the league's Team of the Week for his performance. On Twitter: @PatrickMcLain24

  • Defender Tony Walls (Wauwatosa East/UW-Green Bay) played all 120 minutes and forward J.C. Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) came off the bench for the final 45 as the host Rochester Rhinos outlasted Reading United AC of the USL Premier Development League 2-1 after extra time in a third-round match of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup last Tuesday. The USL PRO side will play host to defending champion D.C. United in a fourth-round match on June 17 in Rochester, N.Y. On Twitter: @TWalls20 @jcbanks11
  • Andrew Stone (Green Bay Preble/UW-Milwaukee) missed Indy Eleven's 5-2 Open Cup victory over the Dayton Dutch Lions on Wednesday and Saturday's 2-1 loss to the San Antonio Scorpions in North American Soccer League play because of a concussion. The 23-year-old Stone played all 90 minutes at right back in the previous two matches for Indy (0-5-3), which closes out the NASL spring season Saturday at the Atlanta Silverbacks and faces MLS club Columbus Crew in the fourth round of the Open Cup on June 17 in Akron, Ohio.
  • Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) continues to play well for the Crew. The third-year midfielder, who scored the first two goals of his pro career in the previous two weeks, set up Justin Meram's 18th-minute goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to host Toronto FC for his first MLS assist.
