Ten clubs have teams in Sunday's finals at the Wisconsin State Championships, but two clubs clearly lead the way.

Bavarian SC and SC Waukesha each have five teams among the 18 finalists that will be seeking State Cup titles at the Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex in Appleton.

Interestingly, the two clubs will square off in just one final, the Under-13 boys championship game at 1:15 p.m. There are three finals at 11 a.m., three more at 1:15 and the final three are scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

The Bavarians also have teams in the Under-14, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-18 boys divisions, while SC Waukesha sides also will vie for championships in Under-16 and Under-19 boys and both of the girls divisions, Under-13 and Under-14.

Appleton SC, Brookfield, Croatian Eagles, Elm Grove, FC Wisconsin, Madison FC, North Shore United and Rush Wisconsin all have one team in the finals of the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association tournament.

Four of Saturday's 12 boys semifinals were tied after regulation, with penalty kicks needed to determine a winner in three of them. That included both Under-18 games, which saw FC Wisconsin-Lataille – an Under-17 team playing up an age group – outlast North Shore United and Bavarian Blue eliminate Madison 56ers Red.

The nine state champions crowned Sunday will earn spots in the Region II Championships, which are June 21 to 25 in Beavercreek, Ohio.

They'll join four state girls teams that qualified for regionals by winning their respective State Cup divisions last fall: SC Waukesha (Under-15), Fusion (Under-16), Strike FC Wisconsin (Under-17) and North Shore United (Under-18).
