Futsal and soccer will take over a street in downtown Milwaukee on June 14.

U.S. Futsal national team coach Keith Tozer and his K Tozer Soccer Academy announced plans Tuesday for the World Futsal Fest, which will turn part of Juneau Avenue into a soccer festival from 1 to 7 p.m.

The event leads up to an international futsal match between the U.S. and France that will be played a block away at Milwaukee School of Engineering's Kern Center. The teams also will play on June 12, and admission to both games is free.

The World Futsal Fest will be on Juneau between the Harp Irish Pub, which is just east of the Milwaukee River, and Water St.

The festival will include cage futsal matches, mini-courts for 1v1 and 2v2 games, soccer demonstrations, live music and food and other vendor booths. Tozer, assistant Mark Litton (Racine St. Catherine's/UW-Parkside) and members of the U.S. Futsal national team – midfielder Philip Suprise (Milwaukee Pius), who played for Tozer with the Milwaukee Wave last winter, is on the 14-player roster – will meet and greet fans.

Additionally, several establishments will be showing the matches from the World Cup in Brazil. The day's schedule includes Colombia vs. Greece at 11:30 a.m., Uruguay vs. Costa Rica at 2:30 p.m. and England vs. Italy at 5:30 p.m.

The second annual U.S. Youth Futsal Leadership Summit also will be held in Milwaukee that weekend. The sport's leaders and coaches from across the country will gather to discuss the growing sport's future and development.

"It's going to be wonderful that Milwaukee will be the epicenter of futsal in the U.S. from June 12th through the 14th,” Tozer said in a news release. "To have the U.S. Youth Futsal Summit here, two national teams and now our futsal festival should make for a great three days.”
