Defender Eric Pothast (Marquette) played the full 90 minutes in his professional debut as Ängelholms FF tied host Hammarby 0-0 in a Swedish Cup match Tuesday.

Veteran goalkeeper Matt Pyzdrowski (Marquette) posted the clean sheet in the first of at least three Cup games for Ängelholms, which plays in the second-division Superettan.

They'll play host to Malmö FF from the top-tier Allsvenskan on Saturday and close out Group 1 play against Degerfors IF, another Superettan club, on March 15. This is the third round of the 2013-14 Swedish Cup; the first two rounds were last summer. The eight group winners advance to the quarterfinals, which are March 22 and 23.

The 22-year-old Pothast, who completed his college career with the Golden Eagles last fall, picked up a yellow card in the 30th minute of Tuesday's match. Hammarby, which also plays in the Superettan, played with 10 men for the final 40 minutes after Johan Persson picked up two yellow cards in a 9-minute span for the home side.

Ängelholms opens league play April 6 at home against Östers IF.
