Adam Pohlman continues to reap the rewards after his tremendous senior season.

The senior midfielder, who scored 37 goals and added 26 assists for Neenah last fall, was named the Gatorade Wisconsin Boys Soccer Player of the Year for 2013-14 on Thursday.

Pohlman previously was named the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year and earned a spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America High School All-American team.

“Pohlman is a great talent, but what sets him apart is his attitude and his work ethic,” Appleton West coach Tim Stuebs said in a news release. “He makes all the players around him better.”

The 6-foot, 175-pound Pohlman is the third Neenah player to earn the state award, following Kris Kelderman (1987) and Stuart Grable (2008). Pohlman had verbally committed to play for Kelderman at UW-Milwaukee next fall, but announced last week that he won't join the Panthers and instead will look to play basketball in college.

In addition to his success on the field, Pohlman has a 3.40 grade-point average and is the co-founder of the Kind Project at Neenah High School, which encourages acts of kindness in the school and community. He and the other state winners are eligible for the Gatorade National Player of the Year award, which will be announced in May.
