Maegan Kelly (Marquette) must have been thrilled with Friday's National Women's Soccer League College Draft in Philadelphia.

The midfielder was selected by FC Kansas City, her hometown team, with the eighth pick in the fourth round – the 35th choice in the 36-player draft. To make things even better, she joins her older sister, Katie, also a former Marquette standout, on the roster.

Maegan Kelly was named to the third team of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America team last fall after scoring a team-best 10 goals and adding eight assists for the Golden Eagles.

She set the program record for career assists with 37 and scored 39 goals in 91 matches (66 starts), and was a three-time All-Big East Conference first-team honoree.

Katie Kelly, who played at Marquette from 2005 to '08, made seven appearances (two starts) for FC Kansas City in the inaugural season of NWSL play last year.
