The Milwaukee Wave's outstanding offensive depth was on display Saturday night.

Nick Perera recorded a hat trick, Marcio Leite added five assists and even goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra set up two goals as the Wave powered to a 28-12 victory over the Rochester Lancers and kept its spot atop the Major Indoor Soccer League standings.

Player-coach Giuliano Oliviero, Carlos Munoz, Ian Bennett and JC Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) had two goals apiece and veteran defender Victor Quiroz pitched in with two assists as Milwaukee (8-1) extended its league lead to a full game over the Baltimore Blast (7-2).

A crowd of 5,324 at U.S. Cellular Arena saw each side fire 40 shots on goal in the wide-open match, with Feenstra making 35 saves to remain unbeaten in five starts this season.

Two runs proved decisive for the Wave in their fourth consecutive victory.

Perera's first two goals came during an 8-0 surge that defender Pablo started late in the first quarter and stretched through halftime. Perera triggered the second run, a 10-0 spurt that included goals by Oliviero and Munoz and ended with Bennett's goal that made it 28-10 with just less than 7 minutes remaining.

Feenstra assisted on back-to-back goals by Perera and Oliviero in a 1:35 span midway through the third quarter. He's the only keeper in the MISL this season with more than one assist.

Leite is tied for the league lead with 14 assists, while Munoz is tied for second with 15 total goals and Bennett is tied for fifth with 12.

The Lancers (3-9), in their first season under former Wave defender Josh Rife, lost their fourth in a row and are sixth in the seven-team league.

Milwaukee has a home-and-home series against the Missouri Comets (6-4) next weekend, playing Friday night in Independence, Mo., and at 6 p.m. Saturday at U.S. Cellular Arena.
