Charles Kazlauskas (Milwaukee Thomas More) and Dutch club Helmond Sport headed into their winter break in fine fashion.
Kazlauskas scored the equalizer and Helmond Sport went on to beat De Graafschap 2-1 in a Jupiler League match Saturday in Doetinchem, Netherlands.
Playing as an outside midfielder, Kazlauskas got onto a cross by Juanito Sequeira and headed it past De Graafschap goalkeeper Theo Zwarthoed to tie the score at 1 in the 34th minute.
Serhat Koç put the visitors ahead in the 38th and they held on to the slim lead the rest of the way to extend their unbeaten streak to four. Helmond Sport (9-7-6) has 33 points and stands ninth in the 20-team second tier, which resumes play Jan. 17.
Kazlauskas, 31, has played every minute for Helmond Sport this season, with two goals and two assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.
