A pair of FC Wisconsin Eclipse players were among the 125 boys and girls who participated in the final U.S. Club Soccer id2 training camp of the year, held Dec. 12 to 15 in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Midfielder Adriana Andreini (Oshkosh) and defender Bianca Stubler (Sussex Hamilton) were part of the camp for girls born in 1999. Andreini plays for the FC Wisconsin Eclipse Under-14 team in the Elite Clubs National League, while Stubler is part of the club's Under-15 side.
The state players were on opposite sides in their lone match at the camp on Dec. 14. Stubler started at left back for the Yellow team in its 1-0 victory over the Green, which had Andreini starting on the left side of midfield.
The invitation-only camp included a guest lecture by April Kater, the head development coach for the U.S. Soccer youth women's national teams. FC Wisconsin Eclipse's Christian Lavers (UW), a U.S. Club Soccer executive vice president and the ECNL president, was among the 16 coaches at the camp.
