Adam Pohlman continues to reap the rewards after his tremendous senior season.

The Neenah midfielder, honored as the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year last month, was one of 61 players named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American team for the fall boys season.

Pohlman had 37 goals and 26 assists for the Rockets this fall. He broke the program's single-season goals record set by Kris Kelderman, the son of longtime Neenah coach Harry Kelderman who is now the UW-Milwaukee coach – Pohlman has verbally committed to play for the Panthers and the younger Kelderman next season.

Also a standout on the basketball court, Pohlman was one of seven state players – all seniors – to make the NSCAA All-Region V team. Six of those players have committed to NCAA Division I programs.

Joining Pohlman on the regional honor squad are forward Brody Kraussel, the leading scorer for WIAA Division 1 state champion Muskego and a Loyola (Ill.) recruit; Hartland Arrowhead defender Colin Koerber (Marquette); Germantown forward Paul Ciszewski (Drake); Green Bay Preble midfielder Evan Garcia; and the Milwaukee Marquette duo of defender Quinn English (Brown) and midfielder Danny Jarosz (Marquette).

  • A reminder that Jarosz will be playing in the third annual High School Soccer All-American Game on Saturday. Due to snow in the Philadelphia area, the match has been moved to 5 p.m. in Dowingtown, Pa., and it no longer will be streamed live online. Jarosz will be the third former Milwaukee Marquette standout to play in the game and the fourth state player overall.
  • The NSCAA also announced the All-Region V girls team, and three state players were honored for their seasons last spring: Waukesha Catholic Memorial freshman forward Emily Cervantes, who was the WSCA Player of the Year after helping lead the Crusaders to the WIAA Division 2 state title, and senior midfielders Josee Stiever and Anny West of Division 1 state champion Cedarburg. Stiever recently concluded her freshman season at Minnesota, while West is playing at UW-Milwaukee. The NSCAA winter/spring All-American girls team was announced in July; Cervantes and Stiever were part of the 29-player squad.
