WIAA Division 1 state champion Muskego was ranked 13th in the final National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 boys soccer poll for the fall season.

The Warriors (22-4-2), who moved up one spot in the final poll, finished the year with an 18-game unbeaten streak (16-0-1). Green Bay Preble, which lost to Muskego 4-2 on penalty kicks following a 2-2 tie in the state final, received votes in the final NSCAA poll.

The Division 1 state semifinalists led a group of five Wisconsin teams in the final NSCAA Region VI rankings of the season. The Warriors were second and the Hornets (23-3-2) were fifth, followed by Hartland Arrowhead (19-1-2) at No. 8, Division 2 state champion Oregon (16-3-3) at No. 11 and Division 2 runner-up Cedarburg at No. 12.

No state teams were in the Student Sports Fab 50 final rankings for fall 2013.

  • Last spring, Firefighters Memorial Park – the home field for the Middleton boys and girls programs – had an irrigation system added to help enhance its natural grass playing surface. Now the Cardinals' programs are raising funds to build a pavilion at the stadium. The building would include restrooms, a concession stand, ticket window and a place to display the school's WIAA state championship trophies. The plans also include an area that would hold the day's match ball, setting up a situation for teams and referees to enter the field in a more formal fashion commonly seen in professional and international games. One option to support the project, which hopes to raise $250,000 by May, is to purchase engraved bricks ranging from $125 to $500. For more information, visit the Middleton boys soccer website.
