Green Bay Team Miller had quite the year in 2013.
The men's amateur side won the Miller Lite Cup in July, went unbeaten through the Northern Wisconsin Soccer League season and finished off the season by winning the NWSL Division I playoff title by outlasting Yale United 4-3 after extra time on Oct. 27 at Akzo Nobel Sports Complex in Howard.
Jason Schwalbach, Aaron Lawniczak, Peter Bernardy (Green Bay East/St. Norbert) and Bryan Urban scored in the playoff final for Team Miller (15-0-2), which beat second-seeded Yale United 5-4 in August and played them to a 3-3 draw in June during regular-season play.
Micah Stoddard (Three Lakes) had two goals for Yale United (12-4-1), including a bicycle kick in the second half of extra time, and Josh Chamberlain (De Pere/UW-Whitewater) added the first goal on a first-half header.
In the Division II playoff final, Team Green Bay Packaging tipped regular-season champion Eclipse FC 2-1. Eclipse FC finished the season 11-2-3, with both losses coming to Green Bay Packaging (9-3-4).
