Sturgeon Bay Clippers

Coach: Todd Maas, fifth season (103-19-3).
Record: 18-6-1 overall, 13-1-0 in Packerland Conference (first). Last 10 games – 7-2-1.
Path to state: Regionals – def. Algoma 5-0, def. Menasha St. Mary Central 2-1 (OT). Sectionals – def. Green Bay NEW Lutheran 3-1, def. Waupun Central Wisconsin Christian 3-2 on penalty kicks following a 1-1 tie.
State tournament history: 0-2-0 in two appearances (2010 and '11).

Milwaukee University School Wildcats

Record: 18-2-3 overall, 7-1-0 in Midwest Classic Conference (first). Last 10 games – 9-1-0.
Path to state: Regionals – def. Milwaukee Heritage Christian 10-0, def. Kettle Moraine Lutheran 4-0. Sectionals – def. Milwaukee St. Anthony 3-1, def. Sheboygan Christian-Lutheran 1-0 (OT).
State tournament history: 0-0-1 in one appearance (2008). Also won Wisconsin Independent Schools Athletic Association Division 2 state titles in 1993, '95 and '96.

Eliminated the defending Division 3 state champions (St. Anthony) and the state's top-ranked team (Sheboygan Christian-Lutheran) in sectional play. ... Schlenker scored the game-winner with 40 seconds left in overtime as they dealt Sheboygan Christian-Lutheran their lone loss after 23 wins.

Barron Golden Bears

Record: 12-7-2 overall, 8-6-2 in Middle Border Conference (fifth). Last 10 games – 6-2-2.
Path to state: Regionals – def. Washburn-Bayfield 4-0, def. Chippewa Falls McDonell-Eau Claire Regis 1-0 (OT). Sectionals – def. Cumberland 2-0, def. Stevens Point Pacelli 2-1 (2OT).
State tournament history: First appearance.
By the numbers: Goals for – 69 (3.29). Goals against – 36 (1.71). Shutouts – 5.

From the touchline: Avenged two regular-season losses in the postseason, having lost to Chippewa Falls McDonell-Eau Claire Regis 4-1 and Cumberland 1-0. ... Ramirez scored the game-winner in the 94th minute in the win over Pacelli, which had won its first 24 games of the season – it was just the sixth time this year the Cardinals were held to fewer than three goals. ... Haji had the overtime golden goal against McDonell-Regis and scored the 44th-minute equalizer against Pacelli. ... Current four-game winning streak is their third of the season; also lost four straight in early September.

Racine Prairie School Hawks

Coach: Corey Oakland, eighth season.
Record: 15-4-3 overall, 7-0-0 in Metro Classic Conference (first). Last 10 games – 8-1-1.
Path to state: Regionals – def. Kenosha St. Joseph 7-0, def. Kenosha Christian Life 5-0. Sectionals – def. Racine St. Catherine's 3-1 on penalty kicks following a 2-2 tie, def. Lakeside Lutheran 3-0.
State tournament history: 9-1-0 in five appearances (2003, '04, '05, '10 and '11). Won Division 3 state titles in 2004, '05, '10 and '11, runners-up in 2003. Also were Wisconsin Independent Schools Athletic Association Division 2 state runners-up in 1993, '95 and '96.
By the numbers: Goals for – 74 (3.36). Goals against – 17 (0.77). Shutouts – 11.

Survived wild sectional semifinal against St. Catherine's in which Koenen was sent off in the 6th minute and senior defender Sam Kurhajec was red-carded in the 64th. Junior Bobby Gaertig scored the 79th-minute equalizer and Eckert made two saves in the penalty-kick shootout.
