Andrew Stadler (Wauwatosa West) and his teammates fought into the final minutes of the season, but couldn't keep Swedish club Sandvikens IF from being relegated.

Sandvikens fell behind BK Forward in the 85th minute and equalized a minute later, but the 1-1 draw wasn't enough to keep the team in the third-tier Division 1 Norra.

They closed out the season unbeaten in their final five matches and finished 7-13-6 for 27 points, three points behind Athletic FC United and Västerås SK FK.

Sandvikens needed AFC United to lose or draw against Valsta Syrianska IK, but they scored in the 92nd and won 1-0 to clinch safety. Defender Greg Rosenthal (UW-Milwaukee) was on the bench for Valsta Syrianska.

The 25-year-old Stadler tied for 11th in the league with seven goals in 21 appearances for Sandvikens, which spent two seasons in Division 1 – the first time the club reached that level. They played in Division 2 for 16 years and Division 3 the other three.
