The Croatian Eagles have dominated the Wisconsin Soccer Leagues Major Division so far this fall, outscoring opponents 17-1 in winning all four of their matches.

North Shore United, meanwhile, has done in the same in the WSL First Division, pouring in 35 goals and allowing just three in its perfect start to its first season.

The sides will square off Saturday in the semifinals of the Wisconsin Open Cup at Croatian Park in Franklin, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. An hour later, Milwaukee Sport Club plays host to Bavarian SC in the other semifinal at Schwabenhof in Menomonee Falls.

The Croatians have won the past two state Open Cups, beating the Bavarians 1-0 in last fall's final thanks to a 50th-minute goal by veteran Jason Willan (Menomonee Falls).

North Shore's roster includes former Croatians midfielders Mohammed Sethi (Mequon Homestead) and Spencer Bursten (Grafton/UW-Parkside) –  both played in last year's Open Cup final, with Sethi setting up Willan's goal – along with Milwaukee Wave defenders Joe Hammes (Cedarburg) and goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra.

The match between Sport Club and Bavarians is a familiar one, as the teams played just last Sunday in a WSL Majors match also at Schwabenhof.

Nick Unger (Milwaukee Marquette) scored twice and B.J. Gottschlich (Germantown/UW-Platteville) had another goal as Sport Club – the reigning WSL Major champions – won 3-1 to improve to 4-1-0 on the season. Sport Club's lone loss was 2-0 to Croatians in a season opener on Sept. 15. Ryan Morrissey scored for the Bavarians (3-2-0) last weekend.

Saturday's winners will meet in the final Oct. 26. If Croatians advance, they will play host to the match as the defending champions; if North Shore advances, there will be a blind draw to determine the host.

The Wisconsin Open Cup champion will earn a berth in the U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region II tournament, which is being played in November and possibly December this year. More on the schedule changes
