Two months after the National Women's Soccer League wrapped up its inaugural season, Lauren Sesselmann (Green Bay Notre Dame) is ready to get back on the soccer field.

The FC Kansas City defender was one of 18 players named to the Canadian women's national team roster for its friendly against the Korea Republic on Oct. 30 in Edmonton.

Sesselmann, who was named to the NWSL Second XI, has earned 34 caps for Canada. She'll report to training camp Thursday, six days before the Canadians' second match against South Korea this year.

  • Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) played the full 90 minutes in his 26th international cap as the Canadian men's team lost to World Cup qualifier Australia 3-0 in a friendly on Tuesday night at Fulham's Craven Cottage in London. The match continued a dismal year for Canada, which is 0-8-3 in 2013 and has been outscored 16-1 in the process. On Twitter: @TosaintRicketts
  • Now that U.S. Soccer posted match reports for all three of the Under-18 national team's games last week in France, here's the official recap for Muskego's Andrija Novakovich: The striker played 147 minutes in the three matches (one start), scoring one goal, setting up another and creating an opposing own goal as the Americans finished second with a 2-0-1 record.
