The 2014 Wisconsin State Championships kick off this weekend, with 64 high school-aged girls teams looking to claim state titles and berths in next summer's U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships.

Group play for the Under-15 through Under-18 divisions is Saturday, Sunday and Sept. 21, with the semifinals on Sept. 22 and the four finals set for Sept. 28 – all matches will be played at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

The Under-18 and Under-16 teams from Middleton's Rush Wisconsin are both looking to repeat as State Cup champions, as are Kenosha's Red Star SC at Under-17 and SC Waukesha at Under-15.

The rest of the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association championships will be played in the spring, with group play over Memorial Day weekend – these four girls divisions are held in the fall to avoid conflicts with the WIAA girls high school season. Next year's Region II tournament is scheduled for June 21 to 25 in Dayton, Ohio.
