In a season of change for prep boys soccer in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state polls have a new look, too.

The first rankings of the new season were released Monday night, including the top five teams in each of the four divisions.

In past years, the Division 1 poll consisted of 10 teams, while the division 2 and 3 rankings featured five teams apiece. However, there will be four WIAA state qualifiers in each division starting this fall, while previously eight sides made the Division 1 tournament.

No matter how the divisions or polls are split up, it's hardly a surprise that Milwaukee Marquette is No. 1 in the Division 1 rankings.

The Hilltoppers (3-0-1) have won the past three WIAA Division 1 state titles and are unbeaten in their past 48 matches (46-0-2) against Wisconsin teams. Kettle Moraine, which has lost to Marquette in each of the past two state finals, open the season ranked second.

Waukesha West (6-1-0) leads the rankings in the new-look Division 2 – the division consists of schools that previously made up the bottom half of Division 1 in enrollment size. The five schools in this week's Division 2 poll have tremendous history: Between them, they have 10 state titles, 11 runner-up trophies and a whopping 43 state appearances.

Appleton Xavier (1-2-0), which won Division 2 last year, is ranked first in Division 3 and Green Bay NEW Lutheran (6-1-0) is atop the inaugural Division 4 poll.

Honorable mention: Menomonee Falls (7-0-0), Appleton North (3-1-1), Muskego (0-3-0), Madison Memorial (2-3-0), Green Bay Preble (3-1-0).
