The Big East Conference might have a new look this fall, but Marquette is once against expected to challenge for the women's soccer championship.

The Golden Eagles received seven of the 10 first-place votes and outpointed Georgetown for the top spot in the preseason conference coaches' poll. Those teams met in the Big East tournament final last year, with Marquette winning 1-0 after claiming its fourth straight regular-season division title.

A trio of Golden Eagles seniors were named to the Preseason All-Big East team: forward Maegan Kelly, midfielder Taylor Madigan (Waunakee) and defender Emily Jacobson (Shorewood), with Kelly and Jacobson among the five unanimous selections. DePaul senior defender Kylie Nordness (Menomonee Falls/Milwaukee DSHA) also made the 14-player honor squad.
