University of Wisconsin freshman Rose Lavelle played all 180 minutes and set up both goals for the U.S. Under-20 women's national team in a pair of losses to Japan over the past four days at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif.

Japan posted a 3-2 victory on Thursday, with the U.S. goals coming on corner kicks served in by Lavelle in a 6-minute span early in the second half. The Americans trailed 2-0 at halftime, but midfielder Andi Sullivan – a Stanford recruit for 2014 – scored on a header the 46th minute and Southern Cal defender Miranda Freeman was credited with the equalizer in the 52nd.

The U.S. dropped a 3-0 decision on Sunday and closed out its nine-day training camp Monday, with Lavelle heading to Madison to join her UW teammates for the rest of preseason camp.

The Badgers have their annual Red-White scrimmage at 4 p.m. Tuesday and play host to Marquette in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. Thursday, both at the McClimon Complex.
