Milwaukee Marquette will start the 2013 season ranked among the nation's top prep boys soccer teams.

The Hilltoppers, who won their third straight WIAA Division 1 state title last fall, are No. 6 in the Student Sports Fab 50 Preseason rankings, which were released Tuesday.

Marquette (23-1-2) finished last season ranked 10th in the national rankings compiled by Sheldon Shealer, which previously were published under the Elite Soccer Report name.

"Marquette commit Danny Jarosz and Brown commit Quinn English highlight a talented Milwaukee Marquette squad. Four other senior starters are being recruited, as well. The team returns five starters and 12 players overall," Shealer wrote of the Hilltoppers.

The Hilltoppers head into the season unbeaten in its past 45 matches against Wisconsin teams (43-0-2) dating to a 3-1 loss to Brookfield East on Sept. 28, 2010. Marquette has qualified for the state tournament in all 13 seasons since joining the WIAA, winning a record nine state titles, and has claimed 24 overall state championships in its 36-year history.
