Muskego's Andrija Novakovich didn't get into the match as the U.S. Under-18 national team closed out play in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup with a 1-1 draw against Denmark on Friday in Limavady.

Novakovich played in the first two games of the tournament in his first action with the Under-18 team, coming on as a 65th-minute sub in a 1-1 tie with Mexico last Monday and playing the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 loss to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4 striker, who has committed to play for Marquette in 2014, scored three goals in three matches at a tournament in early July in Japan in his first appearances for the U.S. Under-17 national team.

  • The U.S. Soccer website posted an article about Novakovich last week, and also posted a Q-and-A with U.S. Futsal national team coach Keith Tozer of the Milwaukee Wave.
  • Wave forward Nick Perera is playing with the U.S. Beach Soccer team at the Copa Salvador del Mundo in El Salvador. The Americans were scheduled to play local clubs La Barra de Santiago and San Isidro before facing El Salvador on Sunday and Monday. Results weren't immediately available.
  • University of Wisconsin midfielder Kinley McNicoll and the Canadian Under-20 women's national team wrapped up their stay in Copenhagen with a 1-1 tie against host Denmark on Friday. The team also beat local professional side Ballerup Skovlunde 6-1 and topped Norway 1-0 during the week.
