Muskego's Andrija Novakovich made his debut for the U.S. Under-18 national team on Monday, playing the final 25 minutes of the Americans' 1-1 draw with Mexico at the Milk Cup in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.

Novakovich, a 6-foot-4 striker who is heading into his senior year at Muskego High School, was on the field when Mexico scored the equalizer in the 71st minute. The Marquette recruit played his first matches for the U.S. Under-17 team earlier this month, scoring three goals in three games as the team won the Niigata Tournament in Japan.

The U.S. faces Northern Ireland on Wednesday in Drumahoe – the host team tipped Denmark 2-1 in its opener on Monday – then closes out play at the 30th annual Milk Cup on Saturday against Denmark in Limavady.

  • Midfielder Rose Lavelle, an incoming University of Wisconsin freshman, was called into a U.S. Under-20 women's national team training camp that starts Sunday in Carson, Calif. The eight-day camp includes friendlies against the Japanese Under-20 team on Aug. 8 and 12.
  • UW midfielder Kinley McNicoll and the Canadian Under-20 women's national team beat local professional team Ballerup-Skovlunde 6-1 on Monday in the first of three friendlies during a training camp in Copenhagen, Denmark. Canada faces the Norwegian Under-20 team on Wednesday and the Denmark Under-20 side on Aug. 2.
