Andrija Novakovich could make his debuts for the U.S. Under-17 and Under-18 national teams in the same month.

The 6-foot-4 striker, who is heading into his senior year at Muskego High School, was named to the U.S. Under-18 team's 18-man roster for the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland.

Novakovich scored in all three matches in his first stint with the Under-17 national team, helping the team beat Japan, Croatia and a local all-star team to win the Niigata Tournament earlier this month in Japan.

The Marquette recruit had 41 goals and 13 assists for Muskego last fall as he was named the Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year, and drew the attention of U.S. Soccer scouts with his play for the Chicago Magic PSG Under-15/16 team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy – he scored 22 goals in 19 matches, tied for third in the nation in goals and first in the country with an average of 1.16 goals per game.

The U.S. opens play at the 30th annual Milk Cup on July 29 against arch-rival Mexico in Ballymoney, then faces host Northern Ireland on July 31 in Drumahoe and Denmark on Aug. 3 in Limavady. The Americans won the tournament in 2005 and '10 and finished second in 2006.

  • University of Wisconsin midfielder Kinley McNicoll is one of 19 players named to the Canadian Women's National Excel camp that starts Tuesday in Copenhagen, Denmark. The camp, which includes players who could be part of the country's team for next year's FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Canada, runs through Aug. 3 and includes three friendlies – against professional side Ballerup-Skovlunde on July 29, Norway on July 31 and Denmark on Aug. 2.
