July 26, 2009: Kyle Zenoni (Hartland Arrowhead/UW-Milwaukee) scored a 90th-minute equalizer, and Matt Schmidt (Racine Horlick/UW-Milwaukee) saved three penalty kicks in the shootout as 10-man Bavarian SC outlasted Massachusetts' Emigrantes Das Ilhas 3-1 on penalties following a 3-3 draw in the U.S. Adult Soccer Association National Open Cup final in Orlando, Fla. Neil Dombrowski (West Allis Hale/UW-Milwaukee) headed in a corner kick by Zenoni in the 16th minute, Zenoni – who saw his 75th-minute penalty kick saved – redirected John Luna's shot in the final minute of regulation and Dombrowski powered in a 35-yard free kick in the first half of extra time for the Bavarians. Craig Posselt (Milwaukee Thomas More/UW-Parkside), Dombrowski and Nate Sabich (Marquette) converted penalty kicks as the Bavarians won their second Open Cup and first since 2003.
