The Ripon College women's soccer program is in mourning.

Taylor Ziebol, a midfielder who played in all 18 of the Red Hawks' matches as a freshman last fall, died as a result of an automobile accident Thursday in Kansas. Ziebol, from Burnsville, Minn., was 19 years old.

"We're heartbroken," Ripon coach Sam Schroeder said in a news release. "Taylor epitomized what it means to be a good teammate and a good person. She set an example for us all every single day. We will miss Taylor's limitless energy, determined spirit and ever-positive outlook. We will miss our friend."

Ziebol started 15 games and had two goals and two assists last year, and made the Dean's List - she had academic interest in biology and education.

She was en route to Texas, travelling with her brother and sister, when the accident occurred near Dodge City, about 130 miles west of Wichita.
