July 25, 2012: Jay DeMerit (Green Bay/Bay Port) earned rave reviews for his performance as the Major League Soccer All-Stars topped Premier League power Chelsea 3-2 in Chester, Penn. The MLS website's recap of the All-Star Game tabbed the Vancouver Whitecaps' center back as the No. 2 Man of the Match: "Showed his class by putting in a solid 90-minute shift, ably dealing with (Romelu) Lukaku's immense physical presence and snuffing out most fires at the back."
