Andrew Stadler (Wauwatosa West) scored another goal for Sandvikens IF on Sunday – and got to celebrate a win, too.

Stadler scored the lone goal in the 24th minute as Sandvikens blanked host Vasalunds IF 1-0 in a Division 1 Norra match to move off the bottom of the standings in the Swedish third division league.

Sandvikens (2-6-4) is one point from getting out of the relegation zone with 14 matches remaining. Stadler, who returned to action last week after missing four matches with a hamstring injury, is tied for ninth in the league with five goals – he's scored nearly half of the team's 11 goals this season.

  • VSI Tampa Bay FC goalkeeper Alex Horwath (UW) was an honorable mention choice on last week's USL PRO Team of the Week. Horwath made five saves in a 1-0 loss to the Charlotte Eagles on June 21, then stopped three shots to record his third shutout of the season the next night in a scoreless draw against the Charleston Battery.
  • The Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League traded defender Carmelina Moscato, who was an assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin last fall, to the Boston Breakers for forward Adriana Leon. Moscato, a regular on the backline for the Canadian national team, played in five of the Red Stars' 12 matches.
