As expected, Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) is headed back to North America.

The 25-year-old striker for Norwegian club Sandnes Ulf was named to Canada's 22-man roster for its training camp ahead of next month's CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Canada, under the direction of interim coach Colin Miller once again, will start camp on Wednesday in Oxnard, Calif. The team will announce its final 23-man roster for the Gold Cup on Friday, and opens play in the tournament July 7 against Martinique in Pasadena, Calif.

Ricketts has five goals in 21 caps and has appeared in each of the past 17 matches for Canada. He was an unused sub for Sandnes Ulf on Saturday in the team's first match in nearly a month, and he'll miss at least three league matches while on international duty.

Canada also will play Mexico on July 11 in Seattle and Panama on July 14 in Commerce City, Colo., in group play.
