FC Wisconsin Eclipse

Two FC Wisconsin Eclipse teams will participate in the Elite Clubs National League North American League playoffs this weekend in Aurora, Colo.

The club's Under-15 and Under-16 sides are among the 32 teams in the North American playoffs, with the winners of the eight four-team groups earning spots in the finals from July 10 to 15 in Richmond, Va.

The top 32 teams in the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 age groups will play in the ECNL Champions League playoffs this weekend, with group winners advancing to the national finals to vie for the league's top titles.

Here's a look at the FC Wisconsin Eclipse teams' records and schedules for the weekend – the club's Under-17 team also will be playing in the Showcase division in its age group.

Under-15
Record: 4-8-4, seventh out of nine teams in Midwest Conference
North American League playoffs
Friday: Connecticut FC, 3 p.m.
Saturday: So Cal Blues SC (Calif.), 1 p.m.
Sunday: Orlando City YS (Fla.), 1 p.m.

Under-16
Record: 2-11-3, eighth in Midwest
North American League playoffs
Friday: San Juan SC (Calif.), 9 a.m.
Saturday: Albertson Fury (N.Y.), 9 a.m.
Sunday: Richmond Strikers (Va.), 9 a.m.

Under-17
Record: 0-14-2, last in Midwest
Showcase
Friday: Arsenal FC (Calif.), 5 p.m.
Saturday: Scorpions SC (Mass.), 3 p.m.
Sunday: Virginia Rush SC, 3 p.m.

The other two Eclipse Wisconsin teams are done for the season.

The Under-14 side finished 10-4-4 and third in the Midwest, but only the top two finishers in each conference advance to nationals in that age group. A win over Illinois' Eclipse Select in their season finale June 8 would have sent them to Richmond, but a 0-0 draw against their sister club meant that they ended up two points short.

The Under-18 team was 2-13-1 and finished eighth in the Midwest; only the top two teams in each conference qualified for this weekend's nationals.

U.S. Soccer Development Academy

The U.S. Soccer Development Academy playoffs kick off Monday at FC Dallas Park in Frisco, Texas, with at least three state natives and 12 other players set to play college soccer in Wisconsin on the rosters of the 64 qualifying teams.

The eight group winners in the Under-17/18 and Under-15/16 divisions qualify for Finals Week, which is July 14 to 20 in Houston.

University of Wisconsin assistant Stan Anderson (UW-Parkside) serves in the same capacity with the Chicago Fire, who had both of their teams earn playoff berths. The Indiana Fire Academy Under-17/18 team also is headed to Frisco – Phil Presser is the club's Academy executive director, having left his positions as an assistant at UW and as the FC Milwaukee Academy coach in March to take the position in his home state.
