June 30, 2002: Miguel Saavedra (Milwaukee Tech) made his debut for the Chicago Fire, coming on for the final 12 minutes of a 2-0 loss at Mexican club Morelia in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinal series. It ended up being the only first-team appearance with the Fire for Saavedra, who signed with Major League Soccer in 2001 as part of the Project-40 program.
