June 23, 2007: Jed Hohlbein (Middleton/UW) scored three goals in the first half as the Madison 56ers' National Premier Soccer League team beat German fifth division side SC Wiedenbruck 4-1 at Breese Stevens Field in what was believed to be the first international friendly in Madison in 10 years. Jeff Derer (Madison La Follette/UW-Whitewater) added a goal in the 88th minute for the home side against Wiedenbruck, which recently had earned promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen.
