Six Wisconsin teams will be action at this weekend's U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Presidents Cup, which kicks off Thursday in Overland Park, Kan.

Four of the teams won boys state championships two weeks ago in Appleton: Oregon Strikers (Under-13), Neenah Gunners (Under-14), Sun Prairie-Beaver Dam Fire (Under-15) and Racine United Red (Under-16).

The other two sides are the Neenah Fire Under-15 boys, a wild card entry, and the Stevens Point Central FC Under-17 girls.

Each of the five age groups that include Wisconsin teams feature two four-team groups, with the group winners to meet Sunday morning for the title. Regional champions also earn berths in the National Presidents Cup, which is July 10 to 14 in Auburndale, Fla.

Central FC has played at the Presidents Cup regionals each of the past two years, narrowly missing out on advancing to nationals in 2011 before qualifying last year – they finished 0-1-2 in pool play. The two Under-15 boys teams are in different brackets, meaning the Sun Prairie-Beaver Dam Fire could face the Neenah Fire for the division title.

The Presidents Cup was created in 2008 to provide a state, regional and national tournament opportunity for teams that don't participate in the U.S. Youth Soccer Championships, which include the Wisconsin State Championships (commonly referred to as the State Cup).
