Sarah Hagen (Appleton North/UW-Milwaukee) closed out her first full season with Bayern Munich in style.

The 23-year-old's 19th goal of the season was a fine strike, as she found the upper right corner of the goal from about 15 yards out on the right side of Sunday's 2-1 victory over host 1. FFC Frankfurt in a Frauen-Bundesliga finale. Video highlights

Hagen opened the scoring in the 31st minute, teammate Lena Lotzen doubled the lead 10 minutes later and Bayern Munich held on to close out the season on a high note. They finished 14-7-1 and fourth in the 12-team league.

Hagen, who is signed through the 2013-14 season, tied for fifth in the Frauen-Bundesliga with 13 goals in 22 matches and has 28 goals in 39 appearances since joining the club in January 2012.

  • Another game, another goal for James Weber (Hartford). The 20-year-old scored for the fifth straight match to open the Division 3 Nordöstra Götaland season in Sweden, but his 34th-minute goal wasn't enough as host Gullringens GOIF lost to IFK Tidaholm 2-1 on Saturday. Weber, who has 14 goals in 15 games since joining the fifth-division club last July, is tied for third in the league in goals – just one behind the co-leaders.
  • Patrick McLain (Eau Claire Memorial) made four saves in his first Major League Soccer start Sunday as Chivas USA dropped a 3-0 decision to the host Portland Timbers. The 24-year-old McLain started in place of the suspended Dan Kennedy, who was sent off in the second half of Chivas USA's 4-0 loss at Sporting Kansas City a week earlier.
  • Milwaukee Wave forward Nick Perera scored the tying and winning goals, the latter with 49 seconds left in extra time, as the U.S. Beach Soccer national team tipped El Salvador 5-4 to win the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship on Sunday in Nassau, Bahamas. Perera led the tournament with 11 goals in five matches for the Americans, who won the regional title for the second time and joined El Salvador in qualifying for the Beach Soccer World Cup from Sept. 18 to 28 in Papeete, Tahiti. The U.S. also played in the 2005, '06 and '07 World Cups
