Charles Kazlauskas (Milwaukee Thomas More) played a vital role in Helmond Sport's win Friday night in the Netherlands.
The veteran midfielder scored the first goal in the 50th minute in a derby match against visiting FC Eindhoven, then drew a penalty kick two minutes later that provided what proved to the be the winning goal in a 2-1 Jupiler League victory. (Video highlights)
Kazlauskas scored his fourth goal of the league season – and fifth in all competitions – sliding in to finish a cross from Samir Fazli from the right side. Moments later, Kazlauskas was pulled down by Eindhoven's Sjors Paridaans as he broke in on goal, with Paridaans issued a red card and Helmond Sport getting the penalty that Emrullah Güvenc dispatched for a 2-0 lead in the 52nd.
The 30-year-old Kazlauskas was replaced after 81 minutes for Helmond Sport (13-5-9), which is fourth in the 17-team second division heading into Monday's match against ninth-place FC Den Bosch.
