Katie Bethke (Eau Claire Memorial) scored her first goal for her new club Saturday.

But it wasn't enough to beat one of her old clubs.

Bethke found the net in the 34th minute as host Avaldsnes IL dropped a 2-1 decision to Arna-Bjørnar in a Toppserien match on Saturday in Norway.

The 24-year-old Bethke, who had six goals in 11 appearances for Arna-Bjørnar in 2011, was chosen as the player of the match for Avaldsnes (0-2-0) by local reporters.

  • Andrew Stadler (Wauwatosa West) scored his second goal of the season and set up the equalizer as Sandvikens IF tied visiting IFK Luleå 2-2 in a Division 1 Norra match Sunday in Sweden. Stadler gave the home side the lead in the second minute, but Sandvikens (0-2-1) needed Andreas Sipuri's goal in the 71st off a pass from Stadler to claim its first point of the season in the third division league.
