The Madison Fire ended a three-year title drought and avenged their only loss of the season all in one fell swoop Friday night.

Trevor Banks (Madison Memorial) scored both goals as the top-seeded Fire rallied past second-seeded Deportivo 2-1 in the Madison Soccer Association Division 1 final at Warner Park.

Earlier in the night, the Wisconsin Wizards doubled up Sporting 1836 4-2 to claim their second straight Division 2 title.

It was the fifth championship in the past eight years for the Fire (9-1-4), who added to the titles they won in 2005, '06, '08 and '09 -- Deportivo also was their opponent in the 2008 and '09 finals.

Deportivo, which beat the Fire 3-1 on Aug. 17, took the lead on a cold night.

But Banks took a pass from Khalid "Johnny" Zafari and scored the equalizer, then put the Fire ahead before halftime with a shot from the left side of the box that curled into the right side of the goal. Banks scored three of the Fire's four goals in the two playoff matches, including the overtime winner in last week's 2-1 semifinal victory over Paradigm.

In the Division 2 final, Robbie Laing (Racine Prairie School) had a pair of goals as the second-seeded Wizards (14-6-2) closed the season on a 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1). They led 2-1 at halftime and added two more before Sporting 1836 scored with about 10 minutes remaining

Nathan Oster (Kenosha Tremper) and Nathan Moeller also scored for the second straight match, as both players were on the board in the Wizards' 2-1 win over Epic FC in the semifinals. Fourth-seeded Sporting 1836, which tied the Wizards 0-0 on Sept. 23, finished the season 12-7-4.
