WSCA girls state polls: April 27, 2012
The top teams in the three divisions of the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association girls state rankings remained the same again this week, while the team with the most wins in the state made its season debut in the rankings.
Eau Claire Memorial (12-0-1) moved up from honorable mention to No. 6 in the Division 1 poll. The Old Abes have outscored foes 51-4 on the season and have posted nine shutouts in their 13 matches.
Also jumping up from honorable mention in Division 1 was Germantown (7-2-1). The Warhawks fell to top-ranked Cedarburg 2-0 on Tuesday, then handed No. 2 Brookfield Central (7-1-0) its first loss of the season with a 3-2 decision Thursday.
The first four teams in the other two polls remained the same, with new sides checking in at No. 5 after earning honorable mention a week ago.
In Division 2, Appleton Xavier (5-1-0) is fifth after extending its winning streak to five games – all by shutout. La Crosse Aquinas (5-1-0), which is fifth in Division 3, also has five shutout victories.
