WSCA girls state polls: May 25, 2012
Cedarburg, Waukesha Catholic Memorial and Menasha St. Mary Central all went wire to wire in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state polls.
The three teams that started the season atop the three divisions in the rankings eight weeks ago remained the same Friday as the panel of state coaches released their final polls of the spring ahead of the start of the WIAA tournament next week.
Cedarburg (15-0-1) and Waunakee (20-0-2), the top two teams in the Division 1 poll, are two of four unbeaten sides in the rankings. The others are Eau Claire Memorial (20-0-2), which moved up two places to sixth in Division 1, and Ashland (20-0-1), which slipped a spot to No. 4 in Division 2.
There was little movement in the final polls of the season, with one team ascending into the rankings from honorable mention in each of the three divisions.
Appleton North (16-1-1) moved up one spot to third in Division 1, having extended its unbeaten streak to 17 (16-0-1) since a 2-1 loss to Cedarburg in a season opener.
