The U.S. Under-23 women's national team ended up second in a three-team tournament in Sweden, but UW-Milwaukee forward Sarah Hagen (Appleton North) did what she could to help the cause.
Hagen scored three times and assisted on another goal as the Americans lost to Norway 3-2 and beat Sweden 4-0 in Borlange, Sweden.
Against Norway on Friday, Hagen's 76th-minute goal capped a two-goal comeback and pulled the U.S. level at 2-2, but the Norwegians scored in the 90th minute to pull out the victory despite being outshot 19-5.
Hagen added her sixth and seventh goals of the year for the Under-23 team on Sunday, finding the net in the 14th and 41st minutes after setting up Tori Huster's sixth-minute opener for the U.S.
The Americans play Sweden in a friendly Tuesday in the final match of the year for the U.S. Under-23 team.
