University of Wisconsin men's soccer coach John Trask headed to California on Sunday to meet up with the U.S. Under-23 national team.

Trask is an assistant under Akron's Caleb Porter for the Under-23 team, which is preparing for March's CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament.

The team will train at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., until Jan. 17, then head to San Jose, Costa Rica for another eight-day camp. The Under-23s will scrimmage the Deportivo Saprissa Reserves on Jan. 21 and LD Alajuelense on Jan. 24.

The Olympic qualifying tournament starts March 22 in Nashville, with the two finalists earning berths in this summer's London Games.
