Kraig Chiles' 33rd-minute goal snapped a tie and the U.S. Futsal national team held off Canada 3-2 on Tuesday night at the CONCACAF Futsal Championships in Guatemala City.

The U.S. team, under the direction of Milwaukee Wave coach Keith Tozer and with the Wave's Matt Stewart wearing the captain's armband, bounced back after a 5-2 loss to Panama in its Group A opener.

The Americans face defending champiom Guatemala in their pool finale Wednesday night and likely need to win to have a chance to advance to the semifinals – the top two finishers in each group earn berths in November's FIFA Futsal World Cup in Thailand.

Wave forward Ian Bennett started for Canada and tied it at 2 in the 30th minute, moments after Bryan Perez had put the U.S. ahead 2-1.
