Sarah Hagen (Appleton North/UW-Milwaukee) will get a chance to impress new U.S. women's national team coachTom Sermanni this week.

The Bayern Munich striker is scheduled to train with the national team Monday through Wednesday in Offenbach, Germany. The Americans are playing Germany on Friday in an international friendly, a matchup of the top two teams in the FIFA women's world rankings.

Hagen and club teammate Amber Brooks and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher were invited to train with the U.S. team, but are not on the roster for the match against Germany or the Netherlands on April 9 in The Hague.

The 23-year-old Hagen has 14 goals in 19 matches in all competitions for Bayern Munich and is tied for seventh in the Frauen-Bundesliga with eight goals in 15 league games. She has 23 goals in 32 appearances overall since joining the German club in January 2012 after her record-setting career at UW-Milwaukee.

Hagen scored nine goals in 14 international appearances for the U.S. Under-23 team, but this will be her first appearance with the full national team.

  • Hagen, Brooks and host Bayern Munich surprised Naeher and Turbine Potsdam in Frauen-Bundesliga action Saturday, winning 2-0. Lena Lotzen scored both goals, with Hagen setting up the first goal with a deft touch in the box. Four-time defending league champion Turbine Potsdam (10-3-1) is third in the standings and beat Bayern Munich 4-1 in a German Cup semifinal March 3, while Bayern Munich (9-6-0) is fourth in the table.
